The elephant of the Lima Zoo is dead. Many children have never seen an elephant. When my son asked a guide of the zoo where the elephant was, she pointed somewhere in the map of the zoo and said the elephant bones where there. Of course my son wanted to see the bones. We walked in circles until someone pointed out the place. I remembered the elephant to be bigger, well I also remember the suspension bridge to be higher and that I was scared to cross it when I was my son’s age, he crossed the suspension bridge jumping happily. My son asking everyone at the zoo about the elephant made many children to want to see an elephant too, the guides weren’t happy. I hope the zoo gets an elephant soon.

El elefante del zoológico de Lima está muerto. Muchos niños nunca han visto un elefante. Cuando mi hijo le preguntó a una guía del zoológico donde estaba el elefante, ella señaló algún lugar en el mapa del zoológico y dijo que los huesos del elefante estaban ahí. Caminamos en círculos hasta que alguien nos señaló el sitio. Yo recuerdo que el elefante era mas grande, bueno también recuerdo que el puente colgante era más alto y que cuando tenia la edad de mi hijo me asustaba cruzarlo, él lo cruzó saltando alegremente. El que mi hijo le preguntara a todo el mundo acerca del elefante hizo que muchos niños también quisieran ver el elefante, las guías no estaban felices. Espero que el zoológico adquiera un elefante pronto.
